Diane Peroulakis, a woman of grace, talent, and boundless love, began her remarkable journey on February 18, 1947, in the vibrant, Greek community of Tarpon Springs, Florida. As the eldest daughter of Glendousi and Irene Stamatiades, Diane’s artistic spirit shone brightly from an early age, earning her recognition in elementary school for a masterful drawing of the Palace of Versailles. In 1969, after graduating from college, Diane embarked on a new chapter in New York City, where she launched a successful career at Chase Manhattan Bank. Her elegance and poise were celebrated in 1970 when she was crowned Miss Halki, honoring the Greek island linked to her family’s heritage.
Later in 1970, while at a Greek dance in Baltimore, Maryland, fate led her to the love of her life, Pantelis Peroulakis, a dedicated serviceman in the U.S. Army. From that moment, their bond became unbreakable. On October 24, 1971, they were united in marriage at St. George Greek Orthodox Church in Springfield, Massachusetts, beginning a devoted partnership that spanned 53 cherished years. Diane and Pete were blessed with their loving daughter, Alli, and son-in-law, Pablo; their loving son, Ted, and daughter-in-law, Elena; and their cherished grandson, Alexander Pantelis. Her children and grandson were the heart of her world, and her role as Yiayia brought her immeasurable joy. Diane’s love for her family was profound and selfless, a guiding light in all she did.
After a distinguished 15-year career as a Buyer at Pratt & Whitney, Diane retired to the sunlit shores of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. There, she embraced life’s pleasures, traveling the world with a particular fondness for Greece and Italy, often aboard her preferred mode of travel - cruise ships. A gifted cook and baker, Diane delighted in entertaining and preparing traditional Greek dishes, sharing her culinary artistry with those she loved. She also cherished the refined tradition of afternoon tea, a ritual that reflected her appreciation for life’s simple elegances. Diane’s creative talents extended to her exquisite jewelry designs, which she handcrafted with passion and skill. Her signature pieces, often donated to charitable causes, reflected her generous spirit and artistic legacy.
Diane’s absence leaves an irreplaceable void, yet her strength, devotion, and unwavering love will forever resonate in the hearts of those who knew her. An extraordinary wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, she leaves behind a legacy of warmth and beauty. Diane will be deeply missed, but her memory will remain eternal.
With all our love,
Your Family
