Efrossini Theodossakos, 85, of West Palm Beach, Florida, passed away peacefully on December 8, 2025, surrounded by her family and loved ones. Efrossini is survived by her devoted husband of 61 years, Demetrios Theodossakos; her children John (Maritza), Antonia (Pantelis), and Emily (Kevin); her seven cherished grandchildren, Demetrios, Stephanie, Georgios, Demetrios, Ephrosyni, Efrosyni, and Demetrios; her brothers Georgios and Vasilios; and many loving nieces, nephews, and friends.
Efrossini was born in Lahanada, Messinia, Greece, on February 13, 1940. As a teenager, with courage beyond her years, she left her village and journeyed to Montreal, Canada, where she met the love of her life, Demetrios. They were married on March 7, 1964, at Agia Triada Greek Orthodox Church. Together, they built a lifetime of love, commitment, and partnership. She dedicated her life to him with the same devotion she gave to everything and everyone she loved. She poured her heart into raising their three children, who were her world, and her heart grew even larger when she became a grandmother. She didn’t just watch them grow, she helped raise them, guiding them with the same love, patience, and faith that defined her entire life.
Efrossini and Demetrios owned and ran the iconic Howley’s Restaurant in West Palm Beach from 1982 to 1999. Efrossini worked seven days a week with unwavering dedication alongside her husband. Anyone who walked through those doors was greeted with Efrossini’s warm smile, a kind word, and the feeling that they were more than just customers – they were family. Her generosity, her care and the pride she took in serving others made Howley’s not just a place to eat, but a home for the community. People returned not only for the food, but for the love, the warmth, and the spirit she poured into every day of her work.
Following the sale of the business, Efrossini and Demetrios spent their summers in Greece, their special place they loved so dearly. Those months were filled with joy, visiting with friends and family and embracing the slower pace of life. They welcomed their children and grandchildren with open arms during their summer vacations, creating some of their most cherished memories. Efrossini loved to cook and bake for all of them, a way of bringing the family together and keeping traditions alive. Those summers were her joy – surrounded by the people she loved.
She was a faithful and active member of Saint Catherine Greek Orthodox Church for 43 years. Her absence will be a profound loss to the entire community, which cherished her just as deeply as she cherished them. A devout Orthodox Christian, she loved God deeply and everything she did was guided by her faith. Her life was a living example of humility, gratitude and unwavering trust in God’s will.
She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. She touched the lives of many people and will be remembered for her unconditional love and angelic kindness, and even though she is no longer with us physically, she will always be with us – in everything we do, in everything we say, and in every breath we take. Her love surrounds us still.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 14, 2025, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm with Trisagion Service at 7:00 pm at Quattlebaum Funeral, Cremation and Event Center, 6411 Parker Avenue, West Palm Beach, FL 33405. The Funeral will be held on Monday, December 15, 2025, at 11:00 am at Saint Catherine Greek Orthodox Church, 110 Southern Boulevard, West Palm Beach, FL 33405. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Saint Catherine Greek Orthodox Church in Efrossini’s name. May her memory be eternal.
