“Big E,” as she was lovingly called, Ellamae R. Wilder, age 95, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on August 30, 2025, in Jupiter, Florida. A devoted woman of God, Ellamae’s faith guided her life and sustained her through every season.
She was born on June 17, 1930, in Deep Creek, South Andros, to the late Fred and Hester Rahming. She earned her Associate’s Degree, dedicated her career to domestic service, caring for households with diligence and pride, and gave her time and voice to singing in the church choir. Above all, she was known for caring for others family, friends, and anyone in need.
Preceding her in death were her husband, CJ Wilder; her son, Charles G. Wilder; her oldest grandson, William Murphy Cliett; her siblings, Susiemae R. Williams, Ismae Rahming, Alfred Major, and Hilda Rolle; and her nieces, Brenda P. Ollie and Marie A. Williams.
She leaves to cherish her memory: her children, Anita D. Wilder, Mary Watts (Homer), and Frederick A. Wilder; grandchildren, Charlene D. Wilder, Charles G. Wilder II (Julia), and Jeremiah B. Wilder; and great-grandchildren, Khalia Wilder, Damia K. McNeil, Mari A. Wilder, Mathai Wilder, Capri Wilder, and Amara Wilder.
Ellamae is also survived by her nephews, Dr. Nelson Clark (Deborah), Mark Clark, and Neil Clark; nieces, Seretha Clark, Janice Knowles, Claudia Rolle, and Mildred Nichols; great-nieces, Joan Ollie-Davis (Joseph), Niehla Ollie, and Zennetta Williams; and a host of other family members and friends.
Her life was a blessing, her memory a treasure, and her love a gift from God.
"The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake." - Psalm 23:1-3
