

Elmer Charden Brooker, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, October 8, 2022. He was born on February 22, 1928 in Jupiter, Florida to the late Abner and Bessie Martin Brooker.
“Booker T” was truly a “Legend”. He was raised in Palm Beach County until moving to Okeechobee in 1974. He was an avid sportsman, hunter and fisherman all over Florida, but of course had a great passion for JW Corbett and Lake Okeechobee. He was the owner of Superior Dragline Services, Inc. and the Red Barn Bait & Tackle. He loved his family dearly and loved to entertain and play music for his family and friends. He was also known by many other nicknames including; Papa, Daddy, Uncle Book, Book and Slow Trailer, Jr.
He was preceded in death by his loving and devoted wife of 54 years, Erma Brooker; beloved son, Gary Brooker; eight brothers and sisters; Pete, Josh, Dealer, Sister, Dink, Babo, Toad and Little Bay.
Elmer was survived by his three daughters; Elaine Widing (Don), Judy Harris, (Dennis) and Penny Brooker McDonald (Kirk), eight grandchildren; Donna, Velva, Buddy, Donald, Jennifer, Tina, Carrie and Joe; 22 great grandchildren; eight great great grandchildren; sister, Billie “Nina Jean” Price; Daddy’s Little Girl, “Little Dog”; numerous nieces, nephews; and a host of friends.
Friends will be received on Friday, October 14, 2022 from 11:00AM to 12:00PM with service at 12:00PM at Quattlebaum Funeral, Cremation and Event Center, 6411 Parker Avenue, West Palm Beach, Florida 33405. A committal service will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park, 6411 Parker Avenue, West Palm Beach.
