Frank Johnson, Jr, made his entrance into this world on August 1, 1943, in Live Oak, Florida. He was the third born child of Allie Mae Cook Johnson and the late Frank Johnson, Sr. He was affectionately known as “Buddy” and “Boatman” by family and friends.
Frank graduated from Douglas High School in 1961 in Suwannee County, Live Oak, Florida.
Frank relocated with his parents to Riviera Beach in 1961. Frank was always an industrious worker and immediately found employment with E & H Boat Works. In 1967, Frank took a leave of absence from E & H Boat Works to join our United States Army. Shortly after enlisting, he was promoted to the rank of sergeant. After receiving an honorable discharge, Frank returned to E & H Boat Works and became a supervisor. During this time of employment, Frank enrolled in Palm Beach Community College, currently known as Palm Beach State College. Because of his love for God and country, Frank reenlisted into the Unites States Army Reserve where he served as sergeant for fourteen (14) years. While enlisted in the Army Reserve, Frank remained employed with E & H Boat Works for forty-one (41) years. Frank was not comfortable sitting home as a retiree, so four months after retirement, he found employment as a security guard with Weiser Security Services, Inc. Within two years Frank was promoted from security guard to Captain in Command of security at the Palm Beach County Court House.
Frank was the humble devoted husband of Naomi Larkins for fifty-four (54) years.
Frank was raised in a Christian home and gave his life to Christ at a youthful age. When he relocated to Riviera Beach, he became a faithful member of Hurst Chapel A.M.E. Church where he served as a Sunday school teacher, choir member and on the men’s usher board. After marrying Naomi, Frank moved his membership to Trinity United Methodist Church in West Palm Beach. When joining Trinity United Methodist Church, Frank sang in the choirs and faithfully served on the Board of Trustees until his health began to decline. Frank was honored by his church family with the "2011 Men of Honor Recognition Awards." Frank lived and loved the hymn “Your grace and mercy.”
Frank had a strong love for family, when his father went to be with the Lord, he stepped up to a father role for his younger siblings, Tammy and Jeannette. He loved his Johnsons and Alexander-Cook family. Frank found joy when he went fishing and spending time with his mother. He looked forward to smoking and/or frying turkeys for the family events, especially when the Palm Beach County family was hosting the annual Alexander-Cook Family Reunion.
Frank departed this life, September 9, 2025, to rest in his heavenly home. He will join his father, Frank, Sr., his brother, Henry Johnson and his sisters Linda Johnson Smith and Jeanette Johnson-Freeman.
Frank leaves to cherish his memories, his loving and devoted wife Naomi L Johnson; his loving mother, Allie Mae Cook-Johnson; brother Matthew (Ardease) Johnson; sister Tammy Johnson McDonald and sister in-law Annie Larkins Bispham; nieces Diane Washington, Kimela Flint, Taneshia Johnson, Kendra McDonald, Trenda McDonald, Adrine Green (Arthur), and Tonia Larkins; nephews: Ceasor Donover Smith and Rodney McDonald Sr (Latisha); great-nieces and nephews and a host of cousins and friends.

Family,
Just close your eyes and you will see
All the memories that you have of me
Just sit and relax and you will find
I'm really still there inside your mind
Don't cry for me now I'm gone
For I am in the land of song
