Gilberto Rodriguez-Morales, age 81 of Tequesta, Florida met the Angels in Heaven on July 3, 2012. Gilberto began his journey in Comerio, Puerto Rico on December 9, 1930 to the late Mr. Carmello Morales and the late Juana (nee Rodriguez) Morales. Gilberto left his hometown in Puerto Rico to move to a new home in New York City, New York with his family. While living in New York City, Gilberto began his higher learning trying to attain his law degree, however due to a need in helping support his mother and siblings, he had to drop out of college. So Gilberto was called to duty by Uncle Sam to serve in the Korean Army, where he wound up serving in the 2nd Armored Division under General George S. Patton and was awarded the Occupation Medal and many other Accomodations for his honorable service. While serving in the US Army at one of the USO Clubs Eddie Fisher was entertaining the troops and he spotted Gilberto in the crowd enjoying his music; Eddie walked up to Gilberto and whispered in his ear, "Be Safe Out There". After the war he came back to New York City to find work and in later years became the Building Manager of a high rise in New York City and was very successful at maintaining its upkeep; Gilberto was loved by the residents of the building that he served and protected. On September of 1996, Gilberto moved his wife of 49 years, Blanca to their new home in Tequesta, Florida to enjoy his retirement years. He will be forever remembered as a kind, gentle and loving soul; a man of means and measures; who got things done on his own, not at anothers expense! "God, remember Gilberto in your prayers let your light shine upon his face eternally forever in the Heavens above". Gilberto leaves behind to treasure all of his fondest memories his loving and devoted wife of 49 years, Blanca (nee Vazquez) Rodriguez-Morales; his loved children, Gilbert Rodriguez, Jr. and wife, Michelle of New York City, NY, Christian Dean Rodriguez and wife, Claudia of New York City, NY, Christopher John Rodriguez of New York City, NY; and his six precious grandchildren, Jonathan, Ashely, Elizabeth, Katherine, Tyler and Travis.
