Juanita De Leon is survived by her children Ramon Ramirez and Rafael Canela; siblings Gabriel, Delfin,Ramona, Yuya, and Margaret; grandchildren Raymond, Jr., Janet, Alexandra, Tasha, Tiyisha, Nadia, Rafael, Juan, Gio, and Christian; and daughters-in-law Stacy and Lucy. She is preceded in death by her sons John and Fernando, and grandson Enrique.
Juanita De Leon was born on March 18, 1935 in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. Juanita immigrated to the United States and worked tirelessly to bring her four adored sons to the United States for a better life. Juanita and her sons lived in New York City before relocating to the Washington, D.C. area. Juanita then moved to South Florida. Juanita was a hairdresser in South Florida for many years before retiring. Her children remember her as a hardworking mother who encouraged them to pursue their goals and be self-sufficient. Juanita enjoyed cooking for her family and loved to sew.
A funeral is scheduled for October 10, 2016 at Hillcrest Memorial, with a reception to follow at 9344 Talway Circle, Boynton Beach, Florida 33472. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Juanita De Leon’s life.
