June Anna Griesemer, aged 91, passed away peacefully on September 8, 2024, in Mount Dora, FL. Born on June 8, 1933, June dedicated her life to supporting her family and nurturing the young hearts and minds of her beloved kindergarten students. She embodied the virtues of love, kindness, and generosity throughout her life.
June's professional journey as a kindergarten teacher spanned 35 years, beginning at First Evangelical Lutheran Church and culminating at Seminole Trails Elementary School. Her commitment to education was further highlighted by her active involvement in the Delta Kappa Gamma Society, which fosters the professional and personal growth of women educators.
A graduate of Florida Atlantic University with a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Primary Education, June's passion for teaching was surpassed only by her devotion to her family. Her life was rich with personal interests, including cheering on her children and grandchildren in their various sporting events and other activities. She was her husband’s and sons’ #1 fan cheering them on (sometimes quite vigorously!) as they coached scores of youth and high school basketball and football teams. June also relished the thrill of the family's auto racing adventures! She truly enjoyed preparing holiday dinners and hosting many cherished family and team cookouts, which were affectionately known as "Bull-Nics."
June was a devout member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church, where she both worshipped and contributed to the community. Her faith and dedication to service were evident in every aspect of her life. She was also dedicated to supporting those who suffered from Breast Cancer, participating in “The Race For The Cure” for many years.
She is survived by her loving children, Larry (Janice) Griesemer, Lonnie (Susan) Griesemer and Lee (Audrey) Griesemer; Grandchildren Eric (Zara), Brett (Megan), Connie (Jon), Luke (Sadie), Lyle (Lauren), Kristy, and Kelly (William); great grandchildren Gavin, Chase, Maddox, Cohen, Bailey, Sophia, Anastasia, Elena, Lennon, Landon, Magnolia, Liam, Conor, Ella, and Kahla; and step-grandchildren Austin, Missy, Spencer and Dominic. June was preceded in death by her parents, Carrie and Henry Faber, and her beloved husband of 73 years, Leonard E. Griesemer.
June's life will be honored on Saturday, September 21st, 2024, at First Evangelical Lutheran Church at 2700 Parker Avenue, West Palm Beach, Florida. A viewing will be held from Noon until 2:00PM followed by a funeral service at 2:00PM with Pastor Paul F. Arnold officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Following the services, family and friends are invited to a reception at Quattlebaum Funeral and Event Center at 6411 Parker Avenue, West Palm Beach, Florida.
June’s memory will be forever cherished in the hearts of those she touched with her loving nature and indomitable spirit.
