

Kennate Hendrix, age 77 passed away on Thursday, June 26, 2025. Kennate Hendrix, born October 2, 1947, in Crawfordville, Georgia, was the eldest of seven children born to Hattie B. Williams. From the beginning, his life was marked by love, quiet strength, and unwavering devotion to his family.At a young age, Kennate and his mother relocated to West Palm Beach, Florida, where they would go on to build their lives. At 18, he answered the call to serve his country, Drafted in the United States Army and bravely serving in the Vietnam War.
After returning home, Kennate attended CDL school, where he discovered his passion for driving—a calling that would define much of his life. He spent many years traveling the country as a professional driver, finding peace and freedom on the open road.In 1999, Kennate met the love of his life, Brendalyn. Together, they built a beautiful life and had two children: K’Anna and Kennate Jr. He was also a loving father to his daughter Keshia (Eddie) Allen and the late Ricky Taylor.Kennate was a man of simple joys. He found comfort in watching television, being at home surrounded by loved ones.Though he lived a quiet and humble life, his kind heart, steady presence, and deep love for his family spoke volumes.
He passed peacefully at home on June 26, 2025, in the arms of his wife, after a courageous battle with cancer.Kennate leaves behind his devoted wife, Brenda; daughters K’Anna and Keshia (Eddie); and his son, Kennate Jr.He is also survived by his brother Isaac (Cassandra) Hendrix; sisters Dorine Wright and Dorothy Hendrix; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family who loved him dearly.Kennate was preceded in death by his parents, Attice Lee Hendrix Sr. and Hattie B. Hendrix , as well as his siblings Attice Lee Hendrix Jr., Dolores Hendrix, and Dianne Hendrix, and his son Ricky.
He will be remembered always for his gentleness, his deep love for his family, and the quiet peace he brought into every room. His life was a testament to strength, humility, and unconditional love.
