

March 31, 1922 - February 15, 2016
Arthur Alexander Fraser of West Vancouver, at the
age of 93, passed away peacefully at LGH
surrounded by members of his family. Art will be
missed by his loving wife of 66 years, Diane and his
children, Beth, Ross (Tiffany), Murray, Paul (Barbara),
grandchildren Pearce, Jade, Ty, Tristan, Kailey, Max,
Alex, Arielle, step children Tim (Jessica), Kelly and
Scott. Art is survived by brother Douglas (Mary),
brothers-in-law Jack Cruickshank, Art Cooke and
other extended family. He is predeceased by sister
Janet. Art was born near Strasbourg, Saskatchewan.
He grew up on a farm during the Depression. He
attended the U of Alberta Dental School. After 2
years service in WWII in the Canadian Military Dental
Corp, he went to the U of Minnesota, graduating in
Orthodontics. He practiced 1947-1989 in West
Vancouver. He was a member of many professional
organizations including The Pacific Coast Society of
Orthodontics and Diplomate, American Board of
Orthodontics. He was on the team of the first cleft
palate program at BC Children’s Hospital, where he
served for 16 years. He attended the United Church
and was a charter member of the West Vancouver
Kiwanis Club. His interests including snow and water
skiing, tennis and Fit Fellas. He loved gardening and
playing piano. Many fulfilling years were spent
enjoying life with Diane and family and working on
projects at their property in the Okanagan. Above all,
he was devoted to his family. There will be no
service by request. A private family gathering for Art
will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers,
donations to Lions Gate Hospital are appreciated.
