March 22, 1966 - January 27, 2016
With deep sadness we announce the passing of Bruce on January 27, surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by devoted wife Jennifer; beloved daughters Stella and Paige; everloving parents Elsie and David; brothers Alastair (Janice) and Ian (Suzanne); nieces/nephews Saskia, Kyle, Gavin & Morgan; and family in Britain, Mexico and New Zealand.
After an early childhood in West Vancouver, Bruce and family moved to Singapore, where they enjoyed a tropical lifestyle, international schools, and unforgettable island camping trips in Malaysia. Bruce graduated from Brentwood College, where he made core friends that remained close throughout his life. Many more close friendships followed.
Greatly loved, Bruce had strong values and led a principled life. He was a catalyst for family, friends and colleagues, constantly connecting, organizing and uniting. Bruce was an exceptional athlete with a special love for soccer, as well as rugby, tennis and croquet. His passion was sports, where highlights included work with the Vancouver Canucks, Vancouver Grizzlies, San Francisco 49ers, and leading groups to Olympic Games and Soccer World Cups. He loved to travel.
There will be a celebration of Bruce's life in the Captains Room, Rogers Arena, Feb 20, 2-5pm. Free underground parking, or gate 10.
The family thanks the wonderful nurses and doctors at VGH and BCCA. In lieu of flowers donations to B.C Cancer Foundation are appreciated.
