Mr. David Patrick Cathers

David is survived by the love of his life, his wife; Connie (Bingham), sons; Kevin (Aline Brauchli), Andrew, Jesse and Matthew. Predeceased by his parents; Tiny and Kaye Cathers. Survived by brother; John (Delia Mcleod) sisters; Susan (Michael Burns) and Elizabeth Pickford.

Nephews and nieces extended family members, special friend and nephew, Bill Cathers (Sue), Bob and Beverly Bingham, Tim and Colleen Turyk and their children Sarah (Paul Verrall), Anna and Christopher.

David was born in Newmarket, ON, attended St. Andrews College, graduated from Notre Dame University in Nelson, BC. then moved to Vancouver to ski and do a masters degree. In 1972 his love of skiing drew him to Whistler, BC. where he lived out his passion for sports and an outdoor life in the mountains. Cathers Construction, Heli ski Guiding, Search and Rescue, an active community life, family and friends filled his life. He was honored several times for his community involvement.

A Celebration of David’s Life will be held on September 15th, 2012 at 3:00 p.m., at the Westin Resort and Spa in Whistler, BC.

The family would like to sincerely thank, Dr. John Shepherd and the BMT staff at Vancouver General Hospital,

Dr. Rob Burgess and the entire staff at the Whistler Medical Center and Dr. Boldt and the ICU staff at Lions Gate Hospital. A heartfelt thanks to his friends and family who sustained him during the last 4 years with their care and attention.
