Rosie, Iriss and Claus-my sincerest condolences go out to you and your families. I have so many fond memories of your mom-a sharp lady with the kindest heart I have ever met. She took myself and Jimmy in, and made us feel like we belonged to the Carstens family. She loved her family dearly and had a generous heart to others. Your mom was a wonderful person who treated all of us like her own. A special person with a kind heart.  Our condolences go out to you and your families during this difficult time.

Our sincere condolences to Rosie, Claus, Iris and their families.  My Mom, Ilse at 92 has fond memories of our times together at the cottage where we first met the whole Rosinski clan.  I can't forget camping at the lake with Rosie and Iris, being bitten by mosquitos and not being able to sleep because of the russelling outside the tent.  In the morning we discovered that all our food had been taken by racoons who took their haul to feast under Kellar's cottage, which we had rented.  My Mom, called Lieselotte because she heard noises under the cottage and couldn't sleep.  Well, it was the racoons enjoying our intended breakfast.  I was fortunate enough to have visited with Lieselotte in Vancouver in 1998.   I had recently tried calling and only got Lieselotte's answering machine.  Would love to reconnect with the family after all these years.   We will cherish the memories of our times together at the lake forever.

Feeling nostalgic recently, I drove my son by 136 Hamilton Ave. and told him all about a woman and her family who took my mother and I in, for over a year. I told him how that woman, Mrs. Carstens, treated us, no less, like family and until her own passing in 2008, that my mother, Joanne, would revere Lieselotte as one of her best friends.

I will never forget her fabulous cooking (well...maybe not the trout sulze), Mrs. Carstens attention to detail and her impeccable manners. I hope Rosie, Claus and Iris know their mom made a difference. I will remember Mrs. Carstens with the gratitude and respect she deserves.

Lieselotte was a neighbour of ours for many years and we always enjoyed our visits "over the fence", and admiring her lovely garden!
It was also delightful watching her with her dog, Nikki, as well as her pure enjoyment in life, her children and grandchildren!!

As a child I have warm memories of Lieselotte and how kind and sweet she always was. What a delightful person to have had in my life.

Lieselotte was one of the kindest, most giving person Mom and I have ever had the pleasure of knowing.
Her laugh was infectious as was her smile.  Her love of animals and plants showed the softness of her soul.
She was always willing to help with a kind word or gesture, her doors were always open.
She will forever hold a very fond place in our memories and hearts.
