

We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Patricia Louise Philips following a valiant battle with cancer. Patricia (Pat) was a loving wife, a protector and devoted mother, strong and fiercely independent, yet a kind, giving, and gentle soul. Pat was born May 19, 1937, in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, to Commander J.B. Wadsworth and Margaret Ina Wadsworth. Her family moved to Saint-Hyacinthe, Quebec, when she was a toddler. She attended a Catholic convent school. Her family moved to Victoria, B.C. where Pat graduated from High School. She became a flight attendant for C.P. Air in 1955. She married her love of her life, Captain George Philips, on September 10, 1962, in Lima, Peru. Her son, Bruce Colin , was born in Lima, Peru, and her daughter, Louise Anne, was born in Vancouver, B.C. Pat lived in Fussa, Japan with her family from 1968 thru 1981. Pat and George spent a year in California, and then returned home to Vancouver, B.C. Her husband, George, preceded her in death on July 15, 1999, as did her sister, Margaret Cowen, on June 22, 1984. Pat passed peacefully and joined her husband George on March 6, 2012 with her loving children at her side. She is survived by her two children, Bruce and Louise, her son-in-law, Dean, her two grandchildren, Jackson Dean and Carter Philip, and will be warmly remembered by the countless many whose lives she has touched. A celebration of Pat's life will be held at the Hollyburn Funeral Home on Friday, March 23, 2012, at 2:00p.
