October 10, 1928 - October 20, 2025
With heavy hearts and loving remembrance, we
announce the passing of Philip Gordon Welham
shortly after his 97th birthday. He was predeceased
by his wife Joan, parents Herbert and Lydia, siblings
John and Doris, and son-in-law Scott. Philip is
survived by his children, Candice (Bill), Cynthia
(Jim), and Ross (Bernadette), six grandchildren, six
great-grandchildren, and Louise, who has been a
close friend and companion.
Philip was born in Montreal and worked for CIL for
40 years. He transferred to Vancouver in 1970. After
retirement, Philip worked at Bretons in men’s
clothing with longtime friend Richard and worked in
fundraising/daffodil campaign for the Canadian
Cancer Society.
After major heart surgery in 2004, Philip was able to
continue travelling the world. A second heart surgery
at 90 gave him another 7 years. We celebrate a life
well lived.
The family would like to thank the staff at Amica, Dr.
Debra Van Aggelen and Dr. Annie Chou for their care
of our father over the years.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Happy Hearts
Foundation in Vancouver or the Canadian Cancer
Society for the research daffodil campaign/multiple
myeloma are appreciated.
A Memorial Service will be held Friday November 14
at 11:00am at Hollyburn Funeral Home 1807 Marine
Dr, West Vancouver, B.C.
