Sue was born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba. She graduated with a Fine Arts degree from the University of Manitoba and was a member of the Gamma Phi Beta Sorority. She enjoyed a long career as an appraiser of antiques and fine art.
Susan met her husband-to-be Don at University and celebrated 50 years of marriage before his passing. Sue and Don moved from Calgary to Vancouver in 1965 where they built their careers and raised their family.
Sue was very social and heavily engaged in the community volunteering her time with a range of organizations dear to her heart over the years including the Junior League, the Gamma Phi Camp Board, and the Roedde House Museum. She enjoyed weekly golf games with her girls at Capilano, spending time with her walking group, book club, and volunteering at the West Vancouver Seniors Centre with her Sunday "flower ladies".
She also enjoyed music, singing, and spending time with friends at the Vancouver Symphony, the Kay Meek Theater and the Silk Purse in West Vancouver. She travelled extensively and enjoyed many adventures with friends and family.
Sue was fun loving and a great conversationalist. She was always looking forward to a new event, social engagement, or experience.
Sue is survived by her sons, Colin and Blair, daughter-in-law Chantel, grandchildren Lachlan and Avery, her brother John Moore, and extended family.
Susan requested that there be no service but rather a quiet memory or two in the company of friends.
If friends so desire, in lieu of flowers, a donation to the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
"So come, my friends, be not afraid, we are so lightly here. It is in love that we are made; in love we disappear" Leonard Cohen.
Rest in peace mom.
