March 10, 1938 ---- November 19, 2015
Passed away peacefully, in his home surrounded by family. Vic fought a long battle with Prostate Cancer and was not ready to go. He is survived by his wife, Judy, his children, James (Tracy), Lesley (Andrew), Leanne, Karley (Jack); grandchildren, Danielle, Chloé, Jake, his brother Walter (Margaret) and nieces and nephews, all of whom he loved dearly. Vic was well known for many of his professional accomplishments; General Manager of Edmonton Power, Manager of Edmonton’s 1978 Commonwealth Games, General Manager of Edmonton Parks and Recreation and retired as Superintendent of Vancouver Park Board. Vic taught us many things about life, but what he will be most remembered for is his integrity, loyalty, kindness and determination. He built his family`s summer cabin on his own and there was nothing that he wouldn't fix, everything from watches to vehicles. Vic was referred to as ``Mr. Fix-it`` by his family. Vic loved sports and no better game for him to enjoy into retirement was playing hockey. Vic also enjoyed handball, racquetball, golf, downhill skiing and visits to the Opera. Husband, Father, Brother, Friend and Papa, we will miss you and remember “Everything is Beautiful” like you.
A celebration of his life will be held at The Teahouse Restaurant, 7501 Stanley Park Drive, Vancouver, on Saturday January 16, 2016 from 5:30pm to 7:30pm. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the BC SPCA at http://www.spca.bc.ca/
