Calvin Landon Fluty, age 84, of Dequincy, Louisiana passed away on Wednesday, September 7, 2022. He was born December 21, 1937 in Crum, West Virginia and was a resident of Dequincy, Louisiana for the past 30 years.
Calvin was a member of Maplewood First Baptist Church of Sulphur, La. and he was a Mason. He retired from the United States Army in 1979 after 23 years of service at the rank of Sergeant First Class after serving in the Vietnam War and Korean War. Calvin was formerly employed by Chemical Xpress as a Truck Driver for over 20 years. He was an avid outdoors person. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, woodworking and gardening. Calvin's favorite title was Paw Paw and he took that name to the extreme.
Calvin was preceded in death by his Daughter, Lisa Ann Fluty, Parents, Solomon and Elsie Fluty, Brothers, Luther, Virgil, John, and Sister, Velva.
He is survived by his Wife of 62 years Juanita Marcum Fluty of DeQuincy, La., Son, Ray Fluty and wife Tina of Westlake, La., Daughter, Denise Green and husband Ray of Missouri City, Tx., Brother, Melvin Fluty of Elk City, OK., Sisters, Effie Burns of Copley OH., Jessie Burchett of Kermit, WV., Grandchildren, Krystal, Daniel and Rosalynne, Michael, Patrick, Nicholas and Great Grandchildren, Malakai and Addilynne.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 10, 2022 from 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM at the Hixson Funeral Home Chapel in Westlake, La. Cremation was entrusted to Hixson Funeral Home.
