David Lewis Frye Jr.

(1959- 2015)

David passed away November 20th, 2015 at a local hospital. He was born in Saltville, Va. in 1959 to David L. Frye Sr. and Mary Eastridge Frye. He spent his first 12 years in Virginia where he played baseball and was in the Cub Scouts. He moved to Westlake, La. in 1971 when his father was transferred from Olin Chemical Company to the Lake Charles facility. He graduated from Westlake High School and attended Sowela. He worked at Olin until they sold to Arcadia. When Arcadia closed, he went to work for Episcopal Day School, a job he really loved. He was known to the children as “Mr. Dave”. He was also an avid gardener and enjoyed sharing all his vegetables with neighbors and friends. He loved to fish, hunt, read, and visit with friends.

Left to cherish his memory is his mother Mary Frye, son Shannon O’Quinn, 12 nieces and nephews and 23 great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father David Frye Sr., Brother Mark Frye, Sisters Patricia Frye Wolfe, Anita Frye McNiel, Mary Ann Frye Hayzlett, Karen Frye Thibodeaux, brothers in law Richard L. Wolfe Sr. and Larry Hayzlett.

Services will be held on Monday, November 23rd, 2015 at 1:00 pm at Hixson Funeral Home of Westlake. Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 22nd, 2015 from 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm and will resume on Monday from 9:00 am until the time of service. Burial will follow at Westlake Memorial.
