Dorothy Ann Hargrave

She was a lifelong resident of Cameron Parish and lived the later part of her life in Westlake with her family. She was a passionate woman of God and lived a life of faith. She spent most of her life working as a loving caregiver to the elderly and took care of their physical and spiritual health. She touched many lives in her journey to salvation and strived to spread affection to everyone.

Survivors include her daughter, Robin Takes and husband Tommy Joe; her two sons, David Southern and wife Donna, Ronald Southern and wife, Raquel, all of Westlake; her grandchildren, Joey Southern and Regis Southern of Cameron, Kristy Takes and Jacob Takes of Westlake, Helena Campbell of Merryville, Sarah Goodwin of Deweyville, Ashley Southern of Westlake, Jordan Southern and Jennifer Southern of Westlake, and eight great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Philibert John Richard and Helena Conner Richard of Cameron; her sons, Rudy Eugene Southern Jr. and Richard Earl Southern of Cameron; two sisters, Yvonne Marie Richard Willis and Linda Faye Marie Richard of Cameron.

A celebration of her life will be held at 3:00pm at Hixson Funeral Home of Westlake on Monday, January 8, 2018 with Celebrant Jody Barrilleaux officiating. There will be a one hour visitation prior to the service.
