

Ragley - Gloria Belmer Gammage Duck, 84, passed away Saturday, October 19, 2013 in the comfort of her daughters home, surrounded by her loving family.
Born, Gloria Jean Turk in Petoskey, MI May 4, 1929 to her loving parents, Ernest C. Turk and June G. Swan Turk. She was of Baptist faith and attended Topsy Baptist Church. She worked in the insurance industry all her adult life, including 30 years at Ruel & Gayle Insurance Agency and served many leadership positions in the NAIW while in the insurance business. She was a Notary Public, President of the Westlake Chapter of the AARP. Gloria enjoyed working in the church, teaching, directing the choir and special music programs and she also served on various church committees. She leaves behind her legacy of faith, wisdom and strength to her family. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend.
She is survived by her son, Raymond L. Belmer of Baton Rouge; daughter, Maxine Mancil and husband David of Ragley; six grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. She is preceded in death by her parents Ernest C. Turk and June G. Swan Turk; husbands, Leo Belmer, Jack Gammage and Thomas Duck; brother, Ken Turk; sisters, Shirley Martin and Betty Welch.

Her service will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at Hixson Funeral Home of Westlake. Visitation will be Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until time of service. Burial will be at Westlake Memorial Park Cemetery. Words of comfort may be shared with the family at www.hixsonfuneralhomes.com
