

Jimmy Ray Coleman, age 71, a native & resident of Sulphur was entrusted to God’s loving care on May 8, 2015 at his home surrounded by his family. Jimmy was a veteran of the United States Navy. Upon retiring as a construction welder he worked as a reserve deputy with the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Dept. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed camping at his camp in Toledo Bend. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Bud Coleman and Lodee Grissom Coleman; brother, Buster Coleman and sister, Jenny Russell.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Constance “Connie” Coleman, Sulphur; daughters, Michelle Rae Coleman Simoneaux & husband Michael, Lafayette; Monica Elaine Coleman Sonnier & husband Tim, California and Melanie Ann Coleman Bartlett & husband Jack, Westlake; sister, Martha Thompson & husband Ted, Sulphur. Jimmy is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will commence at Hixson Funeral Home in Westlake on Monday, May 11, 2015 from 11:00 a.m. until the Christian Service at 4:30 p.m. Rev. Aubrey Guilbeau will officiate. Burial will follow at Magnolia Cemetery in Westlake.
