Marlene Medders

She was a native of Oakdale and lived in Moss Bluff. She was a member of Westside Baptist Church and A Quilting Angel. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who especially enjoyed teaching her grandchildren how to cook and sew and she loved spending time with them and her sisters.

She is survived by her husband, Alvis Medders of Moss Bluff; sons, Daniel Scott Medders of Moss Bluff and Eric Christopher Medders and wife, Machelle of Ragley; brother, Sam Spears of Westlake; sisters, Juanita Dublin and Patsy Johnson both of Moss Bluff and Sharon Richard of Oakdale; grandchildren, Chelsea Owen, Tabitha "Tabby" Medders and Jade Medders and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Her funeral will be 11am, Friday, February 1, 2013 at Hixson Funeral Home of Westlake. The Rev. Luke Liechty will officiate. Visitation will begin Thursday 5pm-9pm an resume Friday 8am until service time. Burial will be in New Ritchie Cemetery. Words of comfort may be shared with the family at www.hixsonfuneralhomes.com.
