Mary Hardesty Menard

Mary was born on May 7, 1931 in Oklahoma to William Cleveland Avey and Mary Evalina Avey. She was the 9th of 12 children. She was an avid golfer, reader and later in life bred, raised and raced thoroughbreds.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Quentin Hardesty and Lloyd Menard; grandson, Quentin Brody Hardesty; eight sisters and brothers.

Survivors include sons, Richard Hardesty and wife, Gloria of Westlake, Keith Hardesty and wife, Shelia of Westlake and Dale Hardesty of Gillis; daughter, Elaine Dennis and husband, Allan of Moss Bluff; brothers, Widge Avey of North Carolina and Jack Avey and wife, Joann of Oklahoma; sister, Betty Edwards and husband, Jimmy of Arizona; 11 grandchildren, Christy (Mark) Brasseaux, Jason (Candace) Hardesty, Josh (Audrey) Hardesty, Lindsey Hardesty, Tonya (Jason) Duran, Brandon Hardesty, Damon (Mandi) Hardesty, Cody Hardesty, Scott (Amy) Dennis, Chad (Mallori) Dennis and Jack (Brandi) Dennis; 16 great grandchildren.

Her funeral will be 3pm, Saturday, February 16, 2013 at Hixson Funeral Home of Westlake. Her grandsons will be Pallbearers. Visitation will begin Saturday 12noon until service time. Burial will be in Westlake Memorial Park Cemetery.
