Born January 1, 1954 in Wichita Falls, TX, it took only twelve years for Nancy to find the love of her life. She found her king in eventual lifelong husband, Barry King. Nancy spent fifty-one happy years as Barry's queen, inseparable from age twelve until they finally had to say goodbye the morning of July 6th. Nancy found what most are never able to find, she found what most spend their entire lives searching for, love. Not only did she find the man of her dreams, but she also found the warmth of an undying friendship in Suzanne Daughdrill. The bonds that Nancy formed of love and friendship cannot be broken by time, frailty, sickness or even in this case, death. Nancy loved hunting, fishing, and trips to the family deer lease in Brady, TX. She also swore she could fix anything and never seemed to be without her tools. However, her favorite hobby was gardening and regardless of the condition, she loved looking at her flowers. If the flowers were wilted, it wouldn't take long for Nancy to nurture them back to life. Nancy's ability to fix anything and nurture growth wasn't limited to gardening; it was practiced and perfected in raising her family. She was able to fix any problem, soothe any wound and inspire growth in her children and grandchildren. Whether damaged or in full bloom, Nancy saw only beauty. For the first time in forty-two years, the King household is left without its queen. And while we mourn, it is with great pride we remember that our lives were built on the foundation of unconditional love, passion for family and courage to live life fully. Nancy's love taught us that life isn't measured by what you can obtain, but by the lives we touch with a love that cannot be contained.
