Robert Weldon Koonce

Westlake - Robert Weldon Koonce, 83, went to be with the Lord on March 1, 2012 surrounded by his family.

Mr. Koonce served his country in the U.S. Army Infantry. He retired from Olin after 42 years of dedicated service. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Westlake. He loved his family and loved to fish , hunt and travel.

He leaves to honor his memory his wife of 62 years, Doris Willard Koonce, daughters, Diana and husband David Foster of Moss Bluff; Judy LeBlanc of Westlake; Melinda and husband Keith Strickland of Moss Bluff; sisters, Nora Granger of Alvin, Tx.; Ollie "Tootsie" McGuire of Westlake; Lydia "Teet" Hanson of Tucson, Az.; grandchildren, Brett Foster and wife Lise’ of Fort Worth, Tx.; Todd Foster of Moss Bluff; Rob Wasson and wife Tiffany of Moss Bluff; Laura Dartez of Moss Bluff; Sarah Strickland of Fort Worth; Seth Strickland of Houston, Tx.; great grandchildren, Austin Cole Foster of Moss Bluff; Bryce Dartez of Moss Bluff; Logan Foster, Courtney, Chase and Caleigh Pickering of Fort Worth, Tx. and many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of his life will be held March 3, 2012 at First Baptist Church of Westlake at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Wayne McIntire will officiate. Visitation will be held at the church on Friday, March 2, 2012 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and will resume Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until service. Burial will follow at Westlake Memorial Park.
