Robert E. "Rabbit" Spearing

Robert E. “Rabbit” Spearing, 80, of Westlake passed away on Tuesday, November 10, 2015 in Lake Charles, Louisiana. He was born on September 13, 1935, in Westlake, Louisiana to Sanders and Laura Spearing. Robert enjoyed life and especially loved spending time with his family.

Robert is survived by his loving wife of over 55 years Rena Spearing, his sons, Gregory Spearing and Robby Spearing and his wife Andi, his daughters, Celia Cain and her husband Rodney, Debbie Spearing and Roxanna Spearing, his grandchildren, Marie East and her husband Colton, Jesse Spearing, Cindy Cain, Ashley Spearing, Simon Spearing and Christopher Rodrigues, also many nieces, nephews and close friends.

Robert is preceded in death by his parents, William and Laura Spearing, his sister Catherine Spearing and his granddaughter Samantha Spearing.

Visitation will be on Thursday, November 12, 2015 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Hixson Funeral Home in Westlake. Visitation will resume on Friday, November 13, 2015 from 9 a.m. – 11 a.m. at the funeral home. A Funeral Service celebrating Robert’s life will immediately follow visitation at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Father Alan Trouille will officiate. Interment will follow at Westlake Memorial Cemetery. Funeral Arrangements entrusted to Hixson Funeral Home in Westlake, Louisiana.
