Tommy was born to parents Don and Edith Metzger on January 16, 1950, in Lake Charles, LA. He graduated from Westlake high school in 1969 and enlisted in the Navy and served three tours in VietNam. He remained enlisted for four years in total. After his service, he returned home and began working as a maintenance supervisor where he stayed for 35 years. He married Sandra Louise Metzger and remained so for 31 years until her passing in 2003. He married Vicki Lynn Williams and they were happily married for 14 1/2 years until his passing.
He was an avid fisherman, golfer, liked telling dad jokes, barbecuing, collecting and shooting guns, going on cruises, spending time with his family at Bundick lake, and loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Tommy is welcomed into heaven by his first wife, parents, half-brother, Arthur LeBleu; and his beloved dogs, Sam and Roux, because all dogs go to Heaven.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his second wife, Vicki Metzger; children, Sarah Metzger McClimon(Ryan), Ryan Metzger(Katy), and Matt Metzger(Heather); step-daughters, Dawn Doucett(David) and Ashley Ledford(James); and grandchildren, Dean McClimon, Makenzie Metzger, Scarlett Metzger, Andrew Metzger, Victoria Cornett, Kadynce Doucett, Elijah Doucett, and Ava Ledford.
The family will receive friends at Hixson Westlake Chapel for visitation on Tuesday, March 07, 2023, from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm.
Visitation will resume at Hixson Westlake Chapel on Wednesday, March 08, 2023, at 10:00 am until the time of service at 11:00 am.
Interment will be held at Consolata Cemetery following services.
