

SARA ELIZABETH "SALLY" DICKERHOOF, passed away March 29, 2012 at the age of 93. Born Sara Elizabeth McGee, Dec. 11, 1918, in Youngstown. She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Gilbert R. Dickerhoof, M.D. She was the daughter of the late Thomas F. and Clara Mueller McGee. Her family moved to Wheeling, WV when she was very young. She graduated from St. Joseph's Academy and Elliot's Business College in Wheeling and worked as a bookkeeper and office manager to help put her husband through medical school. Sally was an accomplished and dedicated homemaker, a volunteer at St. John's Hospital and a patron of numerous church and civic organizations. She is survived by her three children: Gib Dickerhoof (Barbara), of Evergreen, CO, Greg Dickerhoof (Gwen), of Hiram, OH and Suzanne York (Larry), of Greensboro, NC; six grandchildren: Robin Dickerhoof (Jonathan Fisher), Kristen (Dale) Eiermann, Katie (Curtis) Clark, Laura (Kurt) Kless, Christopher (Barbara) York and Jeffrey York and nine great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her two brothers Tom and John McGee and a granddaughter Michelle Dickerhoof. A Funeral Mass will be held Monday, April 2, 10:30 a.m. at St. Raphael's Catholic Church, 525 Dover Center Rd., Bay Village (PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH), where she had been a parishoner since 1954. Interment at Lakewood Park Cemetery, 22025 Detroit Rd., Rocky River, 44116.
