

Angela Favia, 91, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 26, 2018 with her daughter and her caregiver of 12 years by her side. Born on March 3, 1927 in Ceglie del Campo, Bari, Italy to the late Saverio and Rosa Burdi, Angela is the oldest of eight children. Angela married the love of her life, Donato Favia in 1944. She worked with him for many years, always helping him with his business in Italy. Angela and Donato had four children before moving their family to Chicago, Illinois in 1966. Upon arriving in Chicago, Angela, along with many of her family members, worked at Hart Schaffner Marx Men’s Clothing Factory as a seamstress. She was a wonderful seamstress and enjoyed sewing. Angela and Donato moved to California in the late 90s to follow three of her children (with their families) and to escape the colder weather. She loved to sing her Italian songs and her children and grandchildren were very special to her.
Angela is preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 years, Donato, her beloved son Saverio, her sister Maria, her brothers Vito and Michael, and her son-in-law Salvator Grasso. She is survived by her daughter Angela (John) Rappa, daughter Rosa Grasso, son Michael (Chella) Favia and daughter-in-law Susan Favia. She has nine grandchildren: Aldo Rappa, Daniel Rappa, Francesca (Salso) Herrera, Matthew (Angela) Grasso, Donato (Jerilyn) Favia, Angela Favia, Don (Rehab) Favia, Daniel Favia and Angelica Favia. She also has eight great-grandchildren: Vincenzo Favia, Giselle and Giovanni Rappa, Domenic and Maddox Grasso, Michael and Lilliana, and Danica Favia. Angela is also survived by her sisters, Chiara, Rosa, and Adele, along with her brother Alfonso.
Angela will be truly missed by her family and many close family friends, as well as her care givers and her special care giver of 12 years, Macrina Gomez.
Funeral mass for Angela will be held at 12:00 pm, Saturday, January 12, 2019 at St. Jude’s Catholic Church, 32032 Lindero Canyon Road, Westlake Village, California. Graveside Service will immediately follow at Pierce Brothers Valley Oaks Memorial Park, 5600 Lindero Canyon Road, Westlake Village, California.
