Charlette S. Trainer was peacefully called to Heaven the morning of July 18, 2020. Chardee was born December 1,1928 in Los Angeles, California to Helen and Charles Suhr of Pennsylvania. As a child, she attended El Rodeo then went on to graduate from Marlborough High School. After graduation, she attended Pine Manor Jr. College in Wellesley, Massachusetts where she studied Art History. She returned to California to continue her education at UCLA and became an avid member of her Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. After college, Chardee worked for Time Life Magazine and then as a bridal consultant for Bullocks Wilshire prior to meeting her husband, Tuck.
Chardee began her lifetime dedicated to Charity work at an early age. She volunteered with the Costume Council of LACMA and pursued her love for performance and theater by joining the Assistance League of Los Angeles Nine O’clock Players Auxiliary. While maintaining her commitment and passion for women's volunteer organizations aimed at improving communities and the social, cultural and political fabric of civil society, Chardee devoted her compassion to the Junior League, The Music Center’s Blue Ribbon, Las Madrinas and the Colleagues, benefiting the Children's Institute Inc. Chardee also served on the Board of Trustees to her alma mater, Pine Manor.
Chardee was a loving wife and doting mother. She enjoyed interior decorating, the theater, traveling, hosting parties and gatherings, and spending time with her dear friends and family. Chardee was sophisticated, Social and spunky. She had a great sense of humor and always enjoyed a good laugh. We will miss her style, charm and vibrance.
Chardee is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas, “Tuck” Trainer of Akron, Ohio, her twin sister Jane, “Janie” Dimmitt of Honolulu, Hawaii and her half sister, “Mimi” Mann Williams of Los Angeles, California.
