Clarence came to CA in 1963 to live with his sister Betty and her husband Tex in Torrance, CA. When Betty and Tex moved to Newbury Park, Clarence followed. There he met and fell in love with Linda who sang in the choir of the local Methodist church. In 1967, just four short months after meeting, they were married and started a family.
Clarence worked in the grocery and bakery business from which he retired in 2002 at age 58, allowing him to spend time traveling and visiting with family. Family was very important to Clarence. He enjoyed regular trips to California's central coast, spending time on the beach with his wife, children, and grandchildren. Family reunions, holidays, birthdays, weekend BBQs, and wine tasting in Los Olivos and Paso Robles, were some of his favorite activities. Above all, Clarence loved his grandchildren. From the time they were born into adulthood, he loved spending time with them. From comforting cranky babies, playing croquet and making cookies as they got older, to attending their sporting events and musical endeavors; it was all important to him. As a result, he cultivated a loving and meaningful relationship with all of his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Clarence Sofus Fredrickson, mother June Fredrickson-Karn, sisters, Betty, Carol and Darlene and brothers Larry and Jerry. Clarence is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Linda, their four children, Darlene (Pete), Todd (Amy), Robin (Paul) and Dan, five grandchildren, Christopher, Ryan, Ryder, Gavin, and Aubrey, and his sister Dorothy (Bob).
Family and friends are invited to attend a lunch reception at the Fredrickson home on Friday October 25, 2024. Visitation with the family will begin at 11:30 am. Interment to precede at Pierce Brothers Memorial Park, 5600 Lindero Canyon Rd, Westlake Village, CA 91362 on Friday October 25, 2024 at 9am.
The family would like to thank Gem Oaks for the care and compassion they showed Clarence in his final days.
