Deanna Tapia Stanley

On April 9, 2015, Frances Deanna Stanley, better known as Dee Stanley by family, friends and associates, passed away after a nearly two and a half year, hard fought battle with ALS, Lou Gehrig’s Disease.

She is survived by Don, her husband of 51 years and three children, Scott and David Stanley and daughter Jill Markow. She leaves nine grandchildren and two great grandsons. Her brother Pat Tapia and wife Vikkie, her brother-in-law Ken Stanley and wife Patricia are surviving family members. She was preceded in death by her sister Joanne, her mother Helen and father Antonio “Tony” Tapia.

Dee was the matriarch of the Stanley family, with an ability to assist and guide those in the family who needed direction. A true friend to all she befriended. Her values were passed on to all of those in her family and extended family. She will be missed terribly, however we know that she is no longer in pain and discomfort and that she will be with her personal Savior forever.

Dee possessed a very infectious personality and smile that never left her even when in the midst of her fight with ALS. In 1984, after dreaming of starting her own business, she purchased a business that involved the acquisition of film permits for film companies in the greater Los Angeles area. It also involved the assignment of off-duty and retired Los Angeles Police Officers to work at movie locations for traffic safety work. She was very successful and was known and respected by most personnel in city offices across the region. She, at one point, testified before the Los Angeles City Council and was a member of a fact finding group for a very well-known Los Angeles City Councilman.

Memorial services will be held at the Calvary Community Church at 5495 Via Rocas, Westlake Village, CA 91361 at 1:00PM with a family interment at Pierce Brothers Valley Oaks Memorial Park in Westlake Village.
