

Born on March 9th, 1935, in Sneem, Ireland, Denis grew up amidst the green mountains of Kerry before immigrating to the United States, where he built a remarkable life marked by hard work, ambition, and a love for family. Though a proud American, he never forgot his Irish heritage, making it a cherished tradition to return to his hometown each summer.
Denis was a devoted husband to Frances and a loving father to his daughters Geraldine, Rosaleen, and Brenda O’Sullivan. He was also a proud grandfather to Adrian and Claire Tavard. He is also survived by his brother Daniel Sullivan and will be remembered with love by extended family and friends near and far. He was preceded in death by his beloved brothers Sonny, Pat, James, Mike, Frank, Tim, and Vincent.
A man of vision and dedication, Denis owned and operated his real estate company for over 50 years, earning the respect and admiration of his peers. He built his real estate legacy with pride, overcoming the ups and downs of the industry-including the rare but formidable 1994 earthquake- with hard work and perseverance.
He was an avid golfer with a competitive spirit, enjoying both the game and the camaraderie it brought. Known for his great sense of humor, Denis brought laughter to others with stories and songs. Above all, Denis will be remembered for his integrity, optimism, and unwavering devotion to his family.
A funeral mass will be held at St. Jude’s Catholic Church in Westlake Village on September 8th at 10am. The burial will follow at Pierce Brothers Valley Oaks- Griffin Memorial Park followed by a celebration of life luncheon at his home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude’s Catholic Church Parish Hall Renovation fund in Denis’ memory.
