Gerald “Gerry” Steven Sette, a master builder and beloved "Papa G" passed away peacefully on February 28, 2026, at the age of 89. A Boston native and Wentworth institute of technology alumnus. Gerry’s legendary construction career spanned from stone and webster in Boston to parsons in New York to major residential developments across California. Whether building 42-house subdivisions in south San Francisco or custom celebrity estates in Los Angeles with all coast construction, he was defined by his technical precision and style. Off the job site, Gerry was a devoted fan of the New England Patriots and the Boston Bruins. Sundays were his favorite—spent cooking his famous red sauce to the sounds of Pavarotti and Caruso. His love for history and his witty sense of humor made him good company, especially if it involved a coffee and a pastry. He also loved to talk about house projects, even in his late eighties. He showed his love through service constantly sketching "structural improvements" for his children’s homes. Gerry is reunited with his parents, Dominic (Duke), Sally, stepmother Connie, sisters, Marie and Kiki. His legacy is carried by his wife, Rosalind; his children, Alan, Stephanie (Sheila), Dore (Audrey), Jennifer (Kris), Joni (Jon), Michael (Katie) and his eight cherished grandchildren; Brock, Trevor, Dillon, Hanna, Kasey, Khloe, Sophia and Ross. He leaves behind a foundation of love as strong as the structures he built.
