It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved, beautiful, enduring mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, Kathleen Mary Newman, who passed away on Oct. 31, 2012 from complications due to cancer.
Kathleen was born on August 3, 1938, in Chicago, the first child of Frances and Irwin Johnson. She is survived by her two children; Lynn Ann and Steven James and two grandchildren; Brittany Rose and Aaron James.
Kathleen was a longtime resident of Oak Park for the past 41 years. Kathleen was a strong, courageous Christian, who was well practiced in her faith including her undying commitment to her family and friends. Kathy worked as a skilled nurse (RN) and also worked in the accounting field for her remaining years.
Kathleen was a dedicated mother with an unconditional love for her family who was an example for all to follow. She liked to volunteer her time to those persons less fortunate than others. She was loved by all and will truly be missed but never forgotten in our personal thoughts and prayers.
We love you Mom with all our heart!
A funeral service will be held Saturday, November 10th at 12pm at Conejo Valley Community Church: 750 Erbes Rd., Thousand Oaks, CA 91362.
