She was a devoted wife, mother, aunt, friend and homemaker. Laura was a strong independent woman who was known by all who knew her as a sweet and kind individual. She was married to her husband, Marion (Jack) Malone, who predeceased her. They lived in Inglewood, before moving to Thousand Oaks in 1979 raising their three children.
Laura was born in Hawaii Sept 18, 1924, the daughter of Matsu and Yuriko Ishikawa. She was predeceased by her parents, two brothers Richard and Yasu Ishikawa and two sisters Mildred Nakagawa and Jane Iritani, all of Hawaii.
She is survived by her sister, Lous Sakima, two step-sons, James Malone and Mike Wakefield, three children, Mary Malone, Shannon Giddings and Mark Malone, eleven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service is planned for August 10 at the Thousand Oaks Elks Lodge for friends and neighbors, from noon to 3pm.
A family memorial service will also be held at the Community of Christ Church in Honolulu on September 8th.
