

Michael “Mike” Guzzardo, 88, of Westlake Village, California, passed away peacefully on November 24, 2025. Known for his warmth, integrity, and steady kindness, Mike lived a life marked by devotion to his family, faith, and community.
Born to Mariano and Virginia Guzzardo, Mike grew up with a strong sense of family that remained central throughout his life. He attended the University of Illinois, where he joined the Kappa Sigma fraternity and made lifelong friends. After college, Mike proudly served his country in the U.S. military, stationed in Germany—an experience he carried with pride and gratitude throughout his life.
Mike went on to build a long and successful career in sales at IBM, where he was admired for his dedication, professionalism, and strong work ethic. After retiring, he moved to Westlake Village, a place he cherished deeply. He often spoke of how much he loved Southern California—especially its beautiful weather—and he embraced an active lifestyle as a member of Calvary Christian Church and the local YMCA.
Mike is survived by his loving family: his brother Tony Guzzardo (Pat); his sister Georgene Besse; his son Mark Beers and daughter Julie Guzzardo; his grandchildren Dillon, Tallula, and Lucia; his niece Ginny Opsahl (John); his nephews Mike Guzzardo (Jules) and Jeff Prelletz; and many beloved nieces and nephews including Andy Prelletz (Laura), Chris Prelletz (Caitlin), Ben Opsahl (Valerie), and Kristen Walor (John). He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Mariano and Virginia Guzzardo, and his niece Donna Prelletz.
Mike will be remembered for his gentle humor, his genuine interest in others, and the warmth he brought into every room. His presence was a comfort, his stories a treasure, and his love a gift felt deeply by all who knew him.
A private memorial service will be held by the family.
He will be forever loved and forever missed.
