

Michael Quinn Neal was born and raised in Martinsville, Indiana, the son of Gladys and Raymond Neal. He is survived by his wife Sylvia of 20 years; his four sisters, Karen, Jeanie, Janie, and Cindy; 23 nephews; 13 nieces; 27 great-nephews; and 29 great-nieces. Michael attended the Air Force Academy after high school, followed by undergraduate studies at Brigham Young University.
Michael began his career with GTE in Indianapolis, Indiana in the early 1990s. Thereafter, he held various positions in Thousand Oaks, CA, Dallas, TX, as well as international assignments throughout Latin America, the Caribbean, the Pacific, and Asia. From 2000 – 2004 Michael held executive positions in San Juan, Puerto Rico and San Jose, Costa Rica. He and his wife both worked on expat assignments for Verizon.
Michael and Sylvia returned to Texas in 2004, settling in Southlake to enjoy the warm Southern hospitality lifestyle they so enjoyed in the early years of their marriage. Later they both took an early retirement from Verizon and continued finding joy in nurturing old friendships and making new ones. They returned to Thousand Oaks in 2014.
Michael was a genuine, loving, and positive human being. His ability to retain information was limitless. He will be remembered for his intellect, charm, kindness, upbeat and enthusiastic personality, smile, quick wit, infectious laugh; he lit up any room he entered. He was a true gentleman and a devoted husband. Michael has left an indelible mark on all of us. He will be missed profoundly and will forever be in our hearts.
