Patricia Chloe Enger Holden died at Los Robles Hospital & Medical Center on Wed., May 8, 2014. Her husband of 61 years, Douglas Holden, and four of their seven children were with her at the time of her death. Patty was a wonderful wife, mother and inspiration to all who knew her. She valued being a grandmother to 17 grandchildren and great grandmother to nine great grandchildren.
She loved the arts and education. Patricia and Doug were married while attending UCLA. Patricia dropped out of school to help Doug complete his senior year in 1954. The high point of that year was the birth of their first son, Michael. Upon graduation, Doug and Patty spent three years in the US Army in Germany. While serving in Germany, two sons, Steven and John, were born. In civilian life, Doug was employed by the Upjohn Company in Feb. 1958. In September of that year, Patty presented the family with twins, Larry and Victoria. That meant Patty faced each day raising five babies (the eldest, four-years-old).
To emphasize her love of family and children, this outstanding woman added two more wonderful children, Bill and Mary Elizabeth, while completing her Bachelor Degree at California State University at Northridge. Patty loved our Father in Heaven and is a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She taught Sunday school, Relief Society and was a devoted Visiting Teacher. She will leave a void in the hearts of all who knew her.
