Paul Scott Promen passed away Monday, June 16, 2014. He was born October 1, 1993 with a great love for life. Throughout his years he made numerous friends who he kept even after graduation, touching the lives of each one. After attending Crespi High School he transferred with his brother to Moorpark High School, where he competed as a pole vaulter, as well as participating in snowboarding and wakeboarding outside of school. He was diagnosed with brain cancer in May 2011, and had a private graduation in the garden of Children's Hospital Los Angeles, receiving his diploma in his robe, cap, and wheelchair among friends, family, school officials, and hospital staff. During his struggle he remained positive, friendly, and loving. After defying odds and doctors for over three years, he lost the fight to cancer at 20 years old at Simi Valley Hospital surrounded by family and friends. He is survived by his parents Carol and Chris, his siblings Patrick, Peter,
and Leilani, his sister-in-law Kelsey, his niece Kaylee, and many cousins, aunts, and uncles, as well as his incredible amount of friends. The funeral was held Saturday, June 21, with a memorial to be held at a later date.
