

Ralph entered heaven on August 25, 2022 at his home surrounded by his family. He is finally reunited with his beloved wife Judy Kay after 14 years. Ralph battles cancer for 16 years never fearing the end. He was a man of faith and love for the Lord. He was kind hearted, generous and was extremely accepting. He loved his family, friends, golfing, spending time at his vacation home at Bass Lake, traveling to Cozumel with family and fishing with his son. He also loved his dogs Mac and Louie. He enjoyed hanging out with his brothers whom he considered his best friends playing cards, having a cigar and drinking a cold beer.
He was married to his wife Judy Kay for 43 years prior to her passing in 2008. He was father to daughter Gina McCarty, Michelle Trickle and son Steven Durazo. He is survived by mother Virginia Durazo and brothers Arnold Durazo and Roger Durazo. Brother Lomardo passed in 2020. He was father in law to Brian McCarty, Steve Trickle and Ria Durazo. Grandfather to Chance Flaaten (32), Tessa McCarty (30), Nicolette McCarty (23), Taj Flaaten (19), Miles Durazo (10) and Maximus Durazo (1). Great grandfather to Willow Flaaten (1) and many nieces, nephews, cousins and godchildren.
He was born in Van Nuys, California on July 5, 1945 to Ralph and Virginia Durazo. Third son of four boys. He was a graduate of Adolfo Camarillo High School where he met and fell in love with his wife Judy Kay. They were married December 20, 1964 and was stationed in the Army. Shortly after marriage he was deployed to Vietnam. Ralph was oversees during the birth of his first born daughter Gina. After his tour, Ralph settled in Thousand Oaks and made their permanent home in Camarillo where they raised their family.
Ralph worked as a micro-electronic engineer for The Department of Defense at Point Mugu until his retirement in 1999. He made many lifelong friends with his co-workers whom he was close to until his final days. He loved being a Grandfather watching them play sports and coaching their teams. He loved America and was a strong supporter of the military, our flag and our country.
Funeral Services will held on Tuesday, September 13th at 10:00am at Padre Serra Parish, 5205 Upland Road, Camarillo.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a small donation be made to Wounded Warriors or Tunnel of Towers.
