

Robert (Bob) L. Isenberg of Thousand Oaks, California, passed away on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at the age of 94. He was born on October 11, 1931, in Los Angeles, California. Later his family moved to San Bernardino where Bob attended elementary through high school.
He graduated from UCLA with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education in 1955, received his Master of Arts degree from Los Angeles State College in 1962, and earned his Doctorate of Education degree from Brigham Young University in 1972.
His career in education included work as an elementary school teacher, a school psychologist, a principal, and he retired in 1993 as Director of Special Programs and Testing for the Simi Valley School District.
Bob played tennis all his life. He played for UCLA, and in 1976, after moving from the San Fernando Valley to Thousand Oaks, he joined Sunset Hills Country Club where he was active in all tennis events. Bob was Ventura County League Coordinator for all USTA leagues for 21 years. He also competed in USTA National Doubles tournaments all over the United States, earning two gold, two silver and three bronze medals. In 2014, Bob was inducted into the Southern California Senior Tennis Hall of Fame.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Betty Isenberg; his children, Ken Isenberg, Lori Josic, and Mark Isenberg; his cherished grandchildren, Jamie Isenberg, Jenna Josif, and Robert and Cooper Josic; his great-granddaughter, Della Joy Josif; and his sister, Lois Isenberg.
The family will attend a private burial at Pierce Brothers Valley Oaks in Westlake Village, California.
