Walter A. Sauter, MIT Electrical Engineering graduate, life-long thinker and inventor, cherished husband, exemplary father and grandfather, peacefully entered into glory on Thursday, March 28, 2019, at his beloved home in Malibu. He is survived by his wife Leah of 65 years, his children Karl, Karen, Susan, Kathleen, 15 grandchildren, a growing crop of great-grandchildren, his sister Hilda and her family, cousin Elsa and other relatives in Germany. He will also be missed by the many who knew him through his work and the family’s life in Topanga and Malibu, and through 53 years of dedicated service to his church. He was renowned for his problem-solving ideas and sharing stories of his experiences as a Navy Lieutenant. His heart was full of love, care and concern for all who knew him.
