I am extremely saddened to learn that Wendy has passed away. It has been over nine years since I moved out of state and last saw Wendy. I always enjoyed my hair trim appointments with Wendy—lots of laughing. She would tell me the sweetest stories about her daughters,  about her parents, her life. I would leave feeling happy. I’ve thought of Wendy many times, but today I went online and discovered this wonderful young woman is with the angels. My prayers are for her in Heaven, for beloved daughters and for her family.  My prayers are with you all.

I met the wonderful Bluth family in 1986 when we moved to Westlake from Granada Hills.  At that time Jonny was 3 and Wendy would have been around 10. 
 Our families shared  many happy times together
  Sandy and I connected easily and we laughed our way through church callings and various silly situations and have been fast friends since.  
Memories of Wendy are vingettes in my mind of a beautiful little girl with golden hair,  lovely eyes and teeth like "little pearls"as Sandy would say.  

 Every encounter with Wendy over the years was washed in a feeling of warmth

I didn't have the pleasure of getting to know Wendy as well as I would have liked, since we didn't have a daughter close in age, but her mom would always tell me about every little thing her children were doing.  

More recently,  Wendy and I would call and text occasionally, trying to get the several Wendys  lined up properly in Sandy's phone. 
  She was always quick to respond to any message from me, which reflects the qualities mentioned by her friends.

  We wanted and needed her to stay a little longer, but she had things to do. 

She's just right over there on the other side,  laughing and hugging her grandparents and waiting to welcome her loved ones.

  She gave her best and loved her daughters with all her heart. 

 I'm happy to have visited with Wendy in her apartment across from the landing not so long ago.  I knew that she felt peaceful and safe with Jacob and that her family appreciated his gentle ways and sweet nature.  
I've loved reading about Wendy in the comments left by her friends and enjoyed the stories shared by her family members

Wendy, we'll meet again and the Bluth family will be reunited with tons of love and laughter.  

 


Wendy was my hairdresser and neighbor, we would laugh together, she was so funny. She was a loving and caring person. She loved her girls so much and talked about them all the time. Wendy was always such a good friend and I will miss her.

Wendy and I met in Jr high and I couldn’t get past her beautiful eyes, we became friends and shared a type of puppy love, over the years we randomly passed each other in the grocery store and sometimes shared dinner recipes , you will be missed Amiga . Much love to the whole family . I hope you find peace in knowing that Wendy was and is a great person, and we will forever think of her love and kindness . 

Wendy was and remains my very bestie. Her love runs deep still and I believe she was a best friend to who was before her. Unless you wronged one of her people or she was protecting an innocent. One of the bravest people, gentle and caring all at the same time. It was nearly impossible not to fall in love with her and her energy. I have endless memories however my mind is refusing to reminisce as of yet. Thank you Sandy and Steven for bringing Wendy into our world. I share my deepest condolences to you, Addison and Vivian, Craig, Chris, Carrie and Jonathan. And Jake you are a strong and kind soul who I’ll appreciate til the end of time. 

Dearest Sandy, Steve and Family,

We are profoundly sorry for your loss. Wendy-Woo was such a ray of sunshine, we all loved her.  Some how I know if she were here she would say:

Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free, I'm following the path God laid for me. I took his hand when I heard his call, I turned my back and left it all.

I could not stay another day, To laugh, to love, to work, to play. Tasks left undone must stay that way, I've found that peace at the end of the day.

If my parting has left a void, Then fill it with remembered joy. A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss, Ah, yes, these things too I will miss.

Be not burdened with times of sorrow, I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow. My life's been full, I savoured much, a loving family, good friends, good times, a loved ones' touch.

Perhaps my time seemed all too brief, Don't lengthen it now with undue grief. Lift up your heart and share with me, God wanted me now, He set me free.

Ill never forget the first day of 8th grade and meeting Wendy.   She was super friendly and so much fun.  Such a beautiful person.   I always enjoyed seeing her.

Sandy, you have been my best friend for almost 60 years.  We’ve celebrated the births of all of our children together.  You and Steve have been such a help to me and my boys. I love you two and all of your family.   Wendy has been a ray of sunshine in all our lives and we will miss her greatly, but know that we will rejoice seeing each other again.

So sorry to hear this. I remember back in the day Wendy and everyone else running around Russell Park and the green belts. Nothing but love and positive vibes to family and Wendy. 

Wendy was my first friend. She and I lived next-door to one another in Westlake Village. Our childhood bedroom windows faced one another which lent to having long chats about everything and nothing. We even tried the can-and-string trick to see if noise would carry from one to the another. I think it actually worked! Those are the fun moments I will cherish. I was a shy and awkward kid. She seemed to know everything and I would happily follow her anywhere. There aren’t too many memories I have that age that do not include her. I’m grateful to have known her. I’m grateful to her family who loved her. I’m grateful she had two beautiful children who were the center of her world. Sending love and support to the Bluth family, her children  and her fiancé. Although their hearts might be broken, maybe they heal knowing  she is in a safe and beautiful place. 

My heart hurts for your daughters, fiancé and your parents.
