He is survived by his wife Delia (neé Palmieri) of 53 years, three children (Larry, Alyssa and Anthony), their spouses (Debbie, Eric and Nicole, respectively) and six grandchildren (Alexa, Nicolas, Dylan, Alessandra, Cash and Cristiano).
Anthony was born on January 21, 1943 in Brooklyn, NY - the son of Lorenzo and Josephine Gitto (neé Paterno), and moved to Washington Township, NJ in 1979 where he lived for the remainder of his life.
Following graduation from Baruch College, Anthony enlisted in the United States Marine Corp. in 1966. Upon completion of his military service, Anthony commenced a storied career spanning 4 decades as a Sales Executive in the consumer packaging industry, before retiring in 2008. Despite his successful and decorated career in sales, Anthony always treated his duties as a husband, father and friend as the most important job he would ever have. He had a lust for life and an unparalleled love for his family and friends - with a unique ability to forge deep and meaningful relationships with nearly anyone he met.
As a devout Catholic, his faith served as a moral compass that guided him to always love and serve others above himself. Over the course of his life, he fostered a passion for the game of golf, a deep appreciation of World History and a fondness for the game of baseball and his beloved Yankees. Anthony was an active member of his community where he volunteered his time to the Ambulance Corp., Zoning and Planning Boards, Little League Baseball Association, Boy Scouts of America and Knights of Columbus.
Anthony will be celebrated and remembered at Becker Funeral Home in Westwood, NJ on Wednesday, February 1st from 5-9pm - followed by a mass at 10:30am on Thursday, February 2nd at St. Andrews Catholic Church, also in Westwood. His final resting place will be at Maryrest Cemetery in Mahwah, NJ.
