Austin John O'Shea

O'SHEA, Austin, 79, of Deerfield Beach, FL, formerly of Bergenfield, NJ, passed away on Monday, November 22nd, 2021. Austin was born on April 5th, 1942 to David and Frances O’Shea in Waterford, Ireland. At the age of 18, he immigrated to the United States to live with his brother David in Rutherford, NJ. In 1963, Austin married Philomena Boyne in Bergenfield, NJ. Austin and Philomena went on to have 2 children, Mary and Patricia.

Austin worked as a driver with Hemingway Transport in Paramus, NJ. At the age of 60, he retired and relocated to Deerfield Beach, FL.

Austin is predeceased by his parents, David and Frances, as well as his siblings, David, Liam and Margaret. He is survived by his two daughters, Mary and Patricia, his grandchildren, Briana, Brittany and Daniel, his great-granddaughter, Kiera, long-time Friend, Amy Weishaus, as well as several nieces and nephews. Austin will be remembered for being a loving father, caring grandfather, having a sense of humor that only a father could have, and passion for the New Jersey Devils.

The family will receive guests at Becker Funeral Home, 219 Kinderkamack Rd., Westwood, NJ on Tuesday, November 30th from 4-8PM with a celebration of his life and faith at 6:30PM and private cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Arthritis Foundation or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
