

Gould, Barbara Ann Fippinger, 80, of Old Tappan, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Wednesday January 15, 2020. Barbara is survived by her daughter Amy Callahan and her husband William, her son Christopher D Gould, her grandson Sean Callahan, her brother Robert Fippinger and his wife Chris, her brother in-law Donald Gould and his wife Kathy and predeceased by her husband Edward F Gould and her sister in law Leslie Weller.
Barbara was born March 13, 1939 to Anna and Robert Fippinger in Paterson, NJ. She grew up in Teaneck and graduated from Teaneck High School in 1957 where she made life long friends and was a member of the Sigma Tau sorority. She went on to earn a Bachelors of Science Degree in Nursing from Skidmore College, Saratoga Springs, NY. Her career began proudly with the Visiting Nurse Service of New York City. She married her beloved husband Edward in 1963 and began raising a family. Barbara was a loving and caring nurse at several senior health care facilities in Bergen County and eventually retired from Pascack Valley Hospital as a discharge planning coordinator. She was a member of the Health Professionals and Allied Employees, the Woman’s Club of Old Tappan and WELCA at her house of worship, Prince of Peace Lutheran Church where she also sang in the choir and volunteered. Barbara was a kind and caring person, loving mother and grandmother, dedicated patient advocate and loyal friend who loved gardening and flowers, classic movies and all genres of music including Frank Sinatra and Barbara Streisand. We miss her dearly, but she will live in our hearts forever.
Visitation will be held on Monday January 20 from 2-4 and 7-9 at Becker funeral home, Westwood NJ. Funeral services will be held Wednesday January 22, 2020 at 11am at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Old Tappan. A procession will follow the service to George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus NJ for interment. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Prince of Peace Lutheran Church and the American Diabetes Association.
