Benjamin Dent

He graduated from Seton Hall University with a B.S. in chemistry and an MBA in marketing. He worked for King Industries in Norwalk, CT before retiring.

He was a communicant of Assumption Church in Emerson and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He served in the U.S. National Guard in the medic division for 7 years.

He is survived by his wife Antoinette (nee Tennaro) of 53 years. Devoted father to Lorraine Taub and her husband, Richard. Loving grandfather of Ryan and Kayleigh. Dear brother of George Dent and Connie Morton (Roy) and the late Madeline Huss. Beloved brother in law to Paschal and Sonja Tennaro and loved by many nieces and nephews.

Ben was most proud of his grandchildren and cherished every opportunity he got to spend with them and enjoyed watching their sporting events. He was an avid Seton Hall basketball fan and never missed watching a game. He was truly a special person who will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Family and friends will be welcomed at Becker Funeral Home, 219 Kinderkamack Road Westwood, N.J. on Wednesday, November 17 and Thursday, November 18 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. A funeral mass will be Friday, November 19 at 9 AM at Assumption Church, 29 Jefferson Ave Emerson, NJ. Interment to follow at Garden of Memories, 300 Soldier Hill Road Washington Township, NJ. Donations to St. Jude’s would be appreciated.
