She is survived by her son, Stephen Gunby (wife Lorraine and granddaughter Stephanie), Julie Lakin (and step-granddaughter Ellie), as well as her sister Christine Fleischmann and her brother, Richard Hinrichs (and wife Anne). She is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.
Carol was predeceased by her husband, Christopher Gunby, her parents, Richard Hinrichs and Madeline Fischer, her sister, Barbara Hinrichs and her son-in-law, Mark Lakin.
Visitation will be held at Becker Funeral Home, located at 219 Kinderkamack Road, Westwood, NJ 07675, on January 23, 2026, from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, 69 Valley St, Hillsdale, NJ 07642, on January 24, 2026, at 9:30 am. The committal will follow at Westwood Cemetery, 23 Kinderkamack Rd, Westwood, NJ 07675, at 11:00 am.
After the interment, a repast will be at Novelli's restaurant located at 2410 Hamburg Tpke., Wayne, NJ
Carol will be remembered fondly by all who knew her.
